In Australia, we have such a diversified landscape, it is hard to find quality HID Lights that are able to get the job done without them falling apart in the first couple of months of use.
When you are looking for a compact light, such as the 4", first of all, you need to check out the quality of the bracket and the housing.
The best way to do this is to find a reputable company in Australia that has been selling these types of lights for years.
The 4" we sell have an OEM manufactured housing which means it's not a cheap plastic knock-off, but a genuine high quality ABS housing.

HID ballasts for xenon driving lights is an interesting subject. Most people in the Australian outback or even a Sydney city slicker are flooded with all shapes and sizes of ballasts on the Internet. To get the right product you have to use the "horses for courses" mentality.
For example, if you only want to add a bit more light to your existing vision than get the 35w driving lights or 55w driving lights, if you want the absolute maximum amount of light get the 70w or 100w lights.
More does not always mean better, how far do you need to see? and note, that the more powerful 100w ballasts, can be less reliable and draw more current than a 35w HID light.

55w: 5500 lumen, (equal to 225w).
70w: 7000 lumen, (equal to 300w).
The HID Xenon Bulbs in driving lights vary depending on the factory. In general, a 35w HID Bulb will produce around 3500 lumen, this is 3x brighter (150% more) than your standard 55w halogen bulb. You can use this scale to calculate the approximate lumen for 55w bulbs, 70w bulbs, and 100w bulbs, (100w being around 10,000 lumen).
When it comes to colour temperature, or "kelvin" ratings, there are a lot of different factors. In general, between 4300k and 6500k is the best light scientists say our eyes are best adapted to, (warm white to cool white).
Another factor when buying HID bulbs is your eyes. some people

A lot of people ask me if they will get more distance from a 9" driving light than a 7" driving light. The answer, in short, is yes.
The real issue is, "will a 9 inch fit on your bull-bar?".
A lot of people driving on out back Australian roads in the Northern Territory, or across the top end of Western Australia, will usually be driving 4WD's with larger bars, like a big ARB Bar. In these cases there is no reason why a 9" light won't fit on them.
In regards to "more light", there are two factors, the first is the power output of the light, 35w, 55w, 70w, 100w etc..., and the second is "the size of the reflector. On a 9" light you have more "area" on the reflector, so two things will happen. The first is that

To buy a compact heavy duty HID driving light is important for vehicles where the weight and size of the light is either limited by the size of the bar, or where there is a short space between the grill or the car and the mounting holes on the bar.
The DR2000 6" has a lightweight but heavy duty aluminum housing, (around 1.5kg), with a specially designed forward mounting system whereby you only need 50mm from the center of the mounting hole, to the absolute back of the light.
It's heavy duty aluminum housing and mounting brackets will also add to the performance of the light where offroad or corrugated roads are being driven on.

I may be biased, but the 9" in the 100w are simply the most powerful HID Xenon lights on the market today. Not only are the 100w ballasts a multi-volt 9-32v system, which is suitable for a 12v or 24v truck, but with a 5yr warranty, how can you go wrong?
To get the absolute most light out a driving light, and still get the reliability, the 2016 model 100w ballasts we use with these lights, is second to none. Forget about worrying that they are an "externally" mounted ballast as the internal 100w ballasts that other companies sell have a high failure rate, don't buy them, the technology is simply not good enough yet.
Also...our 9" have cable that is almost a metre long so you can
